Self Service BaysWHAT SELF SERVE BAY FUNCTIONS ARE REALLY NECESSARY?
A good quality self serve bay should offer all of the following:
1) High pressure wash (at least 1200 psi).
2) High pressure rinse.
3) Presoak option.
4) Foamy Brush option.
5) Tire & Engine option.
6) Wax option.
7) Spot Free Rinse option.
Most self serve wand bays will offer most of these options. Each of these items will vary from car wash to car wash depending on the quality of the facility. Some may not offer zero grains soft water, adequate hot water, good quality chemicals, truly spot free water, etc. Some car washes vary in quality as the owner is experimenting with different chemicals. Some wash better in summer than winter. It is important for you to seek out a car wash that is ``consistent`` with it`s wash quality. All ``COMTEC`` washes stress the importance of ``consistency`` with wash performance. ``COMTEC`` washes are built with equipment designed to perform during all seasons of the year and use only effective chemistry for both hot and cold seasons.
Seek out a car wash where the owner displays pride in his investment. Too many car washes are sideline businesses for part time owners. You can usually tell by how the facility is kept clean, whether the owner is there a lot of the time greeting and assisting customers, and by the overall general appearance of the car wash. A good example of a `top notch`` facility and a prideful owner is the ABC car wash at 64th and Indiana owned and operated by Mr. Jim Beetham. His facility is always clean, well lit, and equipment is always kept operational. He is always willing to assist you and take care of any problems you may have.
